Amelia 2011- Part Two

chasing a lizard...he is just like his daddy!
 Got it!!
When he caught a crab himself...sadly he lost a limb :(  We are trying to teach Jackson to be gentle with little animals.  He crawled away so we hope he was ok ;)
on the docks in downtown Fernandina (about a 15-20 min ride from the Plantation)
We did the Amelia River Cruise and learned all about Amelia, Fernandina, and Cumberland Island.  We got to see wild horses on the beach, dolphins, and the kids got to drive the boat.
The guide asked us over the microphone if Bailey wanted to drive...and what a great idea!  Jackson waited his turn and when we got up there the guide said, "this is Jackson~he is 2 1/2 and has been waiting the entire boat ride to drive the boat!" Well apparently while him and my mom were up near the front of the boat he looked right at the captain and said, "I drive boat?!?" LOL  When he sat down he immediately pulled the throttle back and the Captain had to jump right in and set us back on pace! LOL  He kept his hands on the wheel after that and it gave the whole boat some laughs!
We ate some of the best food while we were there, big thanks to Barbra Farmer, Allie and Jaime Schoonover for all your recommendations!!
This is outside the ice cream shop in Fernandina...it was sooo yummmy!!! Again...2nd child gets it way better than the 1st b/c she enjoyed a WHOLE lot of ice cream ;)  She took a DIVE straight for Jackson's the 2nd time we got it b/c she knew exactly what it was! LOL
This is right outside our door...of course John found a yellow rat snake! Can you believe Jackson just grabbed for it (the reason for Johns serious look is b/c he didn't want the snake to bite anyone...including him!)**John does want me to note that this snake is harmless like most snakes are!**
We had such a great time and we all didn't want to leave!
