Bailey Boo

Bailey is the exact opposite of shy in the dictionary. That girl just has us laughing all the time. She will make just about anyone her best friend. And she sure does have a knack for making boys do whatever she wants. Ha! Here are a few of her adventures in the last week...

Jackson had some buddies come play at our pool and one had an older brother with him. They became fast friends and he let her wash his hair for the better part of an hour. Lol
She put herself to bed the other day while Jackson and I were doing his reading and her sweet brother found her and told me he "turned off her light and shut her closet door so he wouldn't get scared"
Here she is making friends with 14 & 15 yr old boys at our pool. They were high fiving her and being super sweet. Ha.
Bailey had to have what's called a pilomatrixoma removed from her ear (very minor and not a big deal) but bc she is so young she had to be put to sleep (scary part), but she did absolutely amazing. She only had a couple stitches and is back to being her spunky self :)

Outtakes from moving/renovating

I look back at these and crack up :) Seems like it was all so long ago. Below is one of the first times we looked at the house and John of course found a snake.  We took it as a good sign b/c John is obsessed with them and loves everything about nature and all Gods creatures (minus spiders go figure...he is not a fan of those :)  He is such a good Daddy.
This was our first meal in the house.

oooooh the wall paper.  very glad we hired someone to paint and re-carpet the whole house!

Did I mention that John also changed out every single light switch, outlet, and all of their covers as well?? It made a huge difference, but took him a few days to complete. We found out it would have cost $10 a switch plus materials.  It would have been well over $1,000 if we paid someone.
Enjoying a dinner out during the moving process while our parents had the kids.
We spray painted the fireplace ourselves. It was brass and we used a special spraypaint that withstands heat.  We did this in our old house too.  Turned out great.

Sweet Grandma making forts with them while we moved :)

 Finding our first slug :)
After much discussion, John finally agreed to let a professional (my sister-in-laws brother is an awesome electrician if you even need one I can give you his number) to change out the fan that was 20ft up in the air.

Before and After pics of the new house

So this is pretty long...its some of our before and after pictures.  We are still working on things, but we at least have all of our pictures hung now.  It is scary when you buy a house that needs a lot of changes, but glad our vision turned out they way we wanted :) We have been very happy so far.  A HUGE thank you to our parents who helped watch the kids while we moved, closed, and packed...twice in 1 yr!! I don't know how we would have done all of this without all of your help!

Before
After...mainly just pine straw added.
Before

After...we painted the entire interior of the house. And changed out most light fixtures, all door knobs & hinges.
Before
 After...no more wallpaper...anywhere!
Before
After...trees have come in bloom and we added more pine straw
Before
After...one of the biggest changes in the house.  We had the cabinets painted and what an amazing difference it made.  This is one of my favorite rooms now.
Before
After...I hated that red glad to see it go :)
Before
After
 Before
After...here is another HUGE change.  It had real wood judges paneling...which I love, just not in the wood color with the wood flooring.  It looked far too cabin like for me.
Before
After...I just love the after of this one. John REALLY disagreed with me on painting the stained wood white, but I think he agrees with me in the end. He installed an outlet/cable hook up above our mantel and it turned out fantastic.
 Before
After...I am not having a dining room, I will eventually get a dining room table, but we nearly never used our old one.  And I really wanted somewhere I could just leave out my sewing machines.  So I have a sewing room instead :) I now have all my fabric and tools in the drawers in that room. I have yet to use it, but plan on doing some sewing today!
I don't have a before of the playroom...but it was a formal living room (again, we would never use that) and it was a mint green color.  The kids LOOOVE having a playroom and so do I!!
I also don't have one of the porch, but it looks the same...just has our furniture on it. I plan on getting a high top table to put near the screens so we can overlook the stream and watch the deer and animals wonder. This is another one of my favorite parts of the house.  I don't think I can ever go without a screened in porch ever again!
 Before
After...buh bye scary wallpaper! YUCK! The painters nearly fainted when I showed this too them. hahaha. Glad it turned out ok!

Before
After...
 Before
After...I love Jackson's room, it turned out great!
 Before
After...I painted those drawers and spray painted the mirror and pulls to match.  It turned out great! I love her room too :)
 Before
After...the laundry room even got a make over! ha!
 Before
After...the kids bathroom is awesome. We had those doors on the shower in the downstairs full bath as well, but we removed both sets. We also removed all the wallpaper.  I love the skylight and double vanity.
 Before
After...this is our guest bedroom which leads to the back steps.
