Last Post of 2010

A friend of mine did a post about her New Years Resolutions and Reflections of 2010 and I thought that was a great idea :)

Reflections of 2010:
~Found out we were pregnant in January and gave birth to beautiful Bailey in October.
~Jackson turned 2!
~John finished the siding on the front of the house & basically rebuilt the entire front as well(among a million other home improvements!)
~I got a minivan and LOVE my swagger wagon!
~Sadly Mrs. Martin (Dextr's Mom) & Mrs. Rogers (Maureen's Mom) passed away this year, they are greatly missed & are now watching over us in heaven.
~We adopted Cooper, our sweet Golden Retriever. True, his hair bothers the heck out of me and he gets in my way a lot...but I would not trade him for any other dog!
~Jackson is sleeping in a big boy bed!
~We drove to vacation at Vero Beach, FL (9 hrs); Avalon, NJ (14 hrs); Gulf Shores, AL (7 1/2 hrs)
~One of my best friends Ashley got married!
~I turned 30, ugh!
~I got my real estate license
~Jackson started preschool
~John and I celebrated our 6th anniversary :)

2011 Resolutions:
~I know it is a cliche to say that I want to get in shape, but I did just have a baby and it is basically all I think about these days. I just want to feel comfortable in my own skin again! I have about 9 lbs to get to pre-preganacy weight and of course I would love to shed more than that too :)
~Get Jackson potty trained by the end of January (we started yesterday and want to keep it up until he finally gets it)
~Make a wall in my living room into a wall full of family photos (I know this one is small, but I do have a 2 year old and a 3 month old...I need to be realistic with my goals)
~Have some romantic date nights with John (we had a lot of fun for our anniversary...ya know, going to dinner and not having to shovel it down b/c you know your kids won't last very long. Having an actual conversation when there is no other distractions like screaming kids, laundry, T.V., or home improvements!)

Christmas 2010

This is what Bailey did for most of the holiday week :)

Jackson with his blower that Nana and Opa got for him!

SNOW!

Our family of 4!

You know I would never pass up a chance to sled in the snow!

Our house on Christmas night :)

The Ballard family Christmas!

Sadly I didn't get many pictures because this is how Jackson acted the ENTIRE DAY!!! Ugh!

All the grandkids minus Bailey, who was too sick to be out in the cold!

Getting some great hugs from Mimi!

Will is just so darn cute!!

This may be the culprit for his bad behavior on Christmas Day! Santa will NEVER put candy in his stocking until he is MUCH older :) hahahaha

Me and Bailey opening gifts

Martin Family Christmas! Can you believe we got one with everyone looking and Jackson is even smiling!

Jackson playing with my Aunt Tess's dog Coco or "Toto" as he called her :)

Uncle Stephen and Asya :)

Aunt Tess with Bailey
Aunt Pat with Bailey

John with Coco :)

Jackson asking Grandpa to open ANOTHER gift :)!!!

Grandma with Bailey!

This is how I found Jackson one night ;) hahahaha

We had a great Christmas holiday and we can't wait for next year!!!

Our Big Boy!

As I told you in an earlier post, Jackson started to climb out of the pack-n-play over the Thanksgiving break. We stayed at my Mom's house while John was out of town and my Mom does not have a crib, so we made the leap and put him in a "big boy bed". Well, he did great! He did so well when we got home we moved his bed up against the wall, put a rail up, and got rid of the crib for good! We basically had to because if we ever spend the night out anywhere he can no longer sleep in a pack-n-play and we don't want to take any chances with him climbing out of the crib either. I check on him in the middle of the night when I am feeding Bailey and can't believe he has gotten so big, where has the time gone?!?!
He is just getting so big so fast! He says the funniest things. He really has a great sense of humor. He pointed out a red truck on the road and said "Daddy Truck" and it was just so cute how he associates all red trucks with his Dad.
His favorite things to talk about are
"see Daddy, see Daddy"
"me-ci-dine" = medicine...he has been taking a lot of it lately b/c he has strep :(, plus he sees Bailey taking her acid reflux medicine everyday.
"Bay-yee downstairs" = Bailey downstairs or whoever is downstairs at the time
"nated noody" = naked nudey, he LOVES to be naked and wishes he could be all the time!
"open door" =he does say this when he wants a door open, but he also says it when he wants anything at all open...it super cute!
"watch Ru-off/fishes/Buzz and any movie he loves" = watch the movie Rudolph the red nose reindeer and so on
"Trismas Tree light"
"Snowman!"
"tank too Mama" = thank you Mama
"more mo-dirt" = more yogurt
"TREAT" = anything yummy! But, mainly fruit snacks
ALL of his grandparents, "See Mimi/Diddy!!" "Call Opa/Nanna!!" "Where are you Pampa's/Gama??"
"Toopa's where are you??" =Cooper where are you??
"Tri-nan-le"=triangle and he is great at pointing out shapes :)
"cir-dle" circle
He just about knows what most things are and is now trying to put everything into sentences. He can now also count to 14 which is soooo cute!

Holiday Parties

Avery meeting and holding Bailey for the 1st time!

Proud Miles holding Bailey for the 1st time :)

Everyone getting their first look at sweet Bailey!

Cannon and Jackson having a blast in the "bouncy bounce" at "the boys" Christmas party! Jackson fell asleep in the car and when I took him upstairs he was 1/2 asleep saying "bouncy bounce" over and over again. hahahaha

"the wives" at our 1st Annual Christmas party

Some of the guys at the party....minus John who was out of town for work.

Our bunco Christmas party!

Cookies at Jaime's cookie swap party! mmmmmmmmmm

Jenni, Me, Allie, Bailey, Val, and Jaime (and Jr. in her belly)...what a great time!!!

John and Jackson at his Preschool Christmas party. That is basically how he was the whole time, he was supposed to be singing Jingle Bells, but he was too shy and mellow :)

I LOVE how Presley (or Peppy as they all call her) was saying CHEEEEEESE! hahahaha She is sooo stinkin cute!

We went over to Doug and Kelly's house for dinner and had so much fun! This is Jackson saying good bye to Riley (who is so cute!!!!). I think she is saying, "wait just a minute Buddy, I think your moving just a little too fast for me!" hahahaha

Breakfast with Santa

I love how her tights are still to big :)

This is Jackson's Preschool teacher, Mrs. Auger or "Auder" as Jackson says it :)

We colored and put stickers on card for the troops :)

Jackson did NOT want to sit on Santa's lap, but at least he finally looked at the camera!

This is a great shot of Bailey taking a look at the big guy for the first time! She loved him :)

You can tell which list she is trying to get on?!?! Santa was super sweet and hopefully Jackson will enjoy him more next year! John and I went and help set up for breakfast with Santa at our church Friday night and then we got to enjoy our fruits of labor on Saturday. The food was great and it was so well organized. Everyone ate breakfast, colored, and made cards for the troops while you waited for your pager to go off to see Santa. They even had him up on the big screen for the everyone to watch him with all the kids. Our friend Courtney from our Sunday school group organized the whole thing and did a fantastic job (she also took awesome pictures for us!), we can't wait for next year!
