Swim Team 2014

Jackson joined the swim team this year.  We kept him at the team where we rented b/c they had 5 coaches whereas the new subdivision had 2.  He gets a lot of technique coaching (as much as a 5 year old can comprehend). We had an awesome season.  It was M-Th mornings for 30 min and it really got our day going.  I was incredibly proud at how he listened and tried.  If you are older and reading this, you did your best Jackson.  You were definitely not the fastest, but you were certainly the cutest.  You had the whole team of parents and coaches cheering you on.  It was the sweetest thing to watch! I imagine next year will be a fun one b/c he will still be with the 6 and under and have a year under his belt.  PLUS, his sister will be joining too (more of that to come!).
Bailey got to swim in the baby pool and cheered him on for 3 long hours during the meets!  Thank goodness for barbies and treats :)
So proud he jumped off that block the first time!
 The cheering section!
So proud of how much he improved his time!
Always smiling...even when he was swimming...stinker. The whole team ate it up...such a cutie!
More cheering section. Bless everyone who came to watch him...it was worth it though...right!?
 Pirate night!
 Coaches award!

 So proud of that trophie!

ASA Swim Divisionals were at Tech.  You could pay to go and didn't have to qualify to attempt to get in the championships.  This sweet boy said he wanted to go FOR SURE! ha! He saw his cousin swim there last summer and that is where his Dad went to school so he was all over it. He did GREAT! I was super proud!

Jackson is in lane 9.  So he is 2nd down from the top...in the green bathing suit. Jackson got dead last, but he just about brought me to tears of joy.  He is not the same little boy he was even just a year ago.  There were about 700 swimmers and probably 1,000 people in the stands.  It didn't phase him a bit and he jumped right in! It was a huge accomplishment!!!

Afterwards his coach said he could take a dip in the warming up pool...which was the Olympic dive pool and it was pretty cool to this 5 year old.  He was super pumped to swim in 14 ft.  He might even remember that more than the actual meet ;)
